FAQ’s

How would you describe your style?

It’s a fusion of romantic love and timeless photography. It’s also natural, fun and stylish!

How long have you been photographing?

Forever! Actually my camera has been attached to my hip since I started my Photography degree at UGA in 2004. But my doors “officially” opened in 2008. So a quarter of my life:)

How do we book you for our wedding day?

For your wedding, submit the contact form on my website or blog so I can see if I have your date available. If I’m available, we’ll set up a date to meet or phone chat to discuss the wedding further. A 50% retainer and agreement are required to secure your date and I work on a first come first serve basis with deposit and contract in hand.

How do I book you for a portrait session?

If you would like to book a portrait session, call or e-mail me and we’ll chat about what type of session you are interested in. A 50% retainer is also required to secure your session. After I receive the retainer, I’ll send you more information about the session, my clothing form and we’ll decide on a final location for your session.

How many images will we receive?

  • For your wedding, approximately 400-600 of the best images
  • For your engagement, approximately 40-50 of the best images
  • For your portrait session, approximately 40-50 of the best images
  • All delivered images are artistically edited by me with my signature style

Can our friends and family view our images online and order prints?

You bet! When the images are uploaded into the online gallery you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to access the gallery. You can forward the e-mail or share the password with your friends and family so they can view your images and order prints.

Do we get the copyright to our photos?

All images are the property of Laura Leslie Photography. However, you will have a disc of your images that you may use for printing and for personal use such as social networking sites. If you use any of the images online you must place credit under every photo: Laura Leslie Photography with a link to my site at www.lauralesliephotography.com.

Do you blog everything?

No. I don’t blog everything I shoot. I only blog roughly half of what I shoot. I do attempt to blog once a week though. If you would specifically like your images featured on the blog, let me know and I will be more than happy to do so.

Do you have any formal photography training?

Yes. I received my BFA in Photography from the University of Georgia in 2007.

When is the best time to do maternity and newborn pictures?

Maternity sessions are best during the 7-8th months of pregnancy. Newborn session are best at 3-7 days old. The younger the better! Be sure to schedule your newborn session in advance to assure that I have the date available.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, check or PayPal

How far out do we need to schedule our engagement session?

Anytime you would like to pending my availability for that month! I would recommend scheduling it at least 3-6 months prior to the wedding or earlier if you would like.

What is your turnaround time for my images?

  • Weddings: 8 weeks
  • Engagemenst: 4 weeks
  • Portraits: 4 weeks

What is the best way to contact you?

E-mail is definitely the best way to contact me because I travel frequently and many times I’m out of my office for sessions or meetings. However, if you call me and I don’t answer, leave a voicemail and I will return your call as soon as possible!

What are your hours?

  • Monday-Friday from 10-5
  • Saturdays are reserved for weddings
  • Sundays are closed

My venue requires liability insurance. Are you covered?

Yes ma’am. Please send me the contact information for the person I need to send the certificate of insurance to at least 30 days before the wedding.

How long do formals take on the wedding day and when is the best time to do them?

Wedding formals normally take approximately 2 hours on the wedding day. 20-30 minutes for family formals, 30 minutes for wedding party formals and 45 min-1 hour for your bride and groom formals. The best time to do these is 1-2 hours prior to sunset but it also depends on if you are doing a first sight that I recommend or if you are having a traditional ceremony.

Why do you recommend a first sight?

What’s one of the biggest things you will remember on your wedding day? I bet one of them is seeing each other for the first time. So it’s the great debate. First sight or traditional route? I personally recommend doing a first sight. Why? It makes the day run so much smoother and your stress levels go way down. If you are able to complete all the formals before the ceremony then you are free to enjoy your cocktail hour and reception fully with the ones you love. The main reason I love the first sight is because I’m able to actually capture your emotions from seeing each other for the first time unhindered by the ceremony and guests and I’m able to spend a few moments with you getting those personal reactions. But do what makes you happy and I would recommend doing some research and considering it as an option:)

How will we know the photography schedule/timeline for the day?

One month before the wedding I will e-mail you a details sheet to fill out. When I get this back, we will create a final timeline for the wedding day photography. I love to “attempt” to be organized!

How many weddings do you shoot a year?

I only book a limited number of weddings a year so that I can give the most of me to you! I will be shooting no more than 25-30 weddings in 2011.

Do you work in Atlanta or South Florida?

Actually, I’m blessed to call both of these gorgeous states home. In 2011, I will be spitting my time equally between these two beautiful states for weddings, engagements and lots of portrait sessions! My main office is based out of Atlanta beginning in 2011. Portrait and engagement sessions will be booked around my travel dates.
